Mantic Ritual is an American thrash metal band originally formed under the name Meltdown in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2005. The band, composed of vocalist and guitarist Dan Wetmore, guitarist Jeff Potts, bassist Ben Mottsman, and drummer Adam Haritan, quickly made a name for themselves with their aggressive thrash revival sound. In 2009, Meltdown changed their name to Mantic Ritual and released their debut album "Executioner" under esteemed metal label Nuclear Blast, solidifying their place in the metal community with their relentless energy, razor-sharp riffs, and fierce dedication to the thrash genre.
Although the band went on hiatus, they returned to the metal scene with renewed vigor, offering new material that remained true to their thrash roots while showcasing their evolving musicianship. Mantic Ritual's discography highlights their ability to merge classic thrash elements with their own modern twist, which can be heard in songs like "Crusader" and "Heart Set Stone." They have also paid homage to their influences with covers like "Black Funeral," a song originally by the legendary heavy metal band Mercyful Fate, exemplifying both respect for their roots and the power they bring to their interpretations. Mantic Ritual's continued passion for metal and their skillful blending of old school thrash with contemporary flair keeps their fans eagerly awaiting what thunderous tracks they will put forth next.
