Happy Jawbone Family Band

Happy Jawbone Family Band is a Vermont-based psych-pop collective that has been active since 2008. The band was formed by Luke Csehak, who met his future bandmate Francis Carr while attending the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. They initially began playing music together, starting with covers of The Fugs, and eventually developed into a full-fledged band. Over the years, Happy Jawbone Family Band has released numerous albums, EPs, and singles, often on small, independent labels. Their music combines elements of folk, indie rock, and pop, creating a unique sound that has garnered them a reputation as an eclectic group.

The band's lineup has varied over time, with members including Luke Csehak, Francis Carr, Elsabeth Bourne-Kebbell-Csehak, Bobby Csehak, and David Lineal. They are known for their DIY ethos and have released music on formats such as cassette tapes and vinyl. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2013, marked a shift towards more polished production, thanks to collaboration with Jarvis Taveniere of the band Woods. Despite their quirky persona and tendency to cloak themselves in mystery, Happy Jawbone Family Band has built a loyal following with their energetic and imaginative music.
