Oketo is an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 2015 by singer-songwriter Justin Varnes, guitarist Chris Hladowski, bassist Nick Jenkins, and drummer Matt Schulz. Oketo's music is characterized by its catchy melodies, jangly guitars, and introspective lyrics. The band has released two full-length albums, "Oketo" (2017) and "I Am Here You Are Now" (2020), as well as several EPs and singles. Oketo has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and has shared the stage with bands such as The National, Bon Iver, and The War on Drugs.
