Light Bearer was a progressive post-metal band hailing from London, United Kingdom, known for their conceptual and ambitious musical endeavors. Formed in 2010, the band's artistic project was as grand in its narrative scope as it was in its sound—they aimed to craft a tetralogy of records narrating a reinterpretation of Paradise Lost, as well as other mythological and personal themes. Their sonic signature was characterized by a mesh of crushing guitars, atmospheric passages, and vocals that ranged from post-hardcore screams to haunting cleans.
The group's first release, "Lapsus" (2011), quickly set the tone for their narrative and musical journey, followed by the equally acclaimed "Silver Tongue" in 2013. Though their discography was not vast, it was dense with thematic substance; every release intended to be a chapter in their grand narrative. Among these was the collaborative split album with Northless in 2012, which showcased Light Bearer's ability to blend their profound conceptual art with other bands' work. Unfortunately for fans of the ambitious project, the band announced their split before completing the final two parts of their series, leaving their concept partially unfinished. Nonetheless, with "Beyond the Infinite: The Assembly of God" adding to their discography, Light Bearer left a lasting impression on the post-metal scene with their complex storytelling and captivatingly tumultuous soundscapes.
