Adam "Nergal" Darski, born Adam Michał Darski on June 10, 1977, in Gdynia, Poland, is the frontman and creative force behind the extreme metal band Behemoth. Nergal started playing guitar at age eight and founded Behemoth as a teenager, serving as the band's lyricist, main composer, vocalist, and guitarist. He's known for his intense stage presence and controversial antics, including a highly publicized incident where he tore up a Bible on stage.
Beyond his work with Behemoth, Nergal has explored other musical avenues, including a blues and folk project called Me and That Man. He's also ventured into business, owning barbershops in Poland and a nightclub in Sopot. Nergal faced a significant health challenge in 2010 when he was diagnosed with leukemia, but he successfully underwent treatment and returned to music.
