Bloodhorse

Bloodhorse is a heavy metal trio hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in late 2005 by bassist Matt Woods, guitarist Adam Wentworth, and drummer Alex Garcia-Rivera. The band members originally played together in the hardcore punk band Bars and found common ground in influences like Deep Purple and The Who. Their sound blends post-metal, doom metal, stoner rock, and sludge metal, creating a heavy, raw, and melodic vibe that has garnered respect within the underground metal scene. Bloodhorse released their debut EP in 2007 through Translation Loss Records, followed by their first full-length album, *Horizoner*, in 2009. After a long hiatus, they returned in 2025 with *A Malign Star* on Iodine Recordings, an album praised for its mix of aggressive melodies and a deeply human soul, driven by themes of foreboding and historical dread. The band’s members also have connections to notable acts such as American Nightmare, The Red Chord, and All Pigs Must Die, enriching their dynamic sound and presence.
