Staind is an American rock band that emerged from Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1995. The group was formed by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. They quickly gained national fame with their raw, intense blend of heavy metal, grunge, and post-grunge sounds. Staind solidified their place in rock history with the success of their 2001 album "Break the Cycle," which featured the hit ballad "It's Been Awhile," showcasing the band's ability to mix hard rock with emotionally charged lyrics. The song became a chart-topper and remains one of the band's most recognizable tracks.
Over the years, Staind has consistently delivered to fans with a series of successful albums, maintaining a presence in the rock scene through their dark, introspective lyricism and Lewis's distinctive voice. Even though the band went on a hiatus after their self-titled album "Staind" in 2011, they have periodically reunited for live performances, latest of which resulted in the release of "Live: It’s Been Awhile" in 2021. This album captures the raw energy of their stage presence, providing a glimpse of their enduring appeal to fans. Despite changes and breaks over the years, their recent works, including singles like "Confessions Of The Fallen" and "Here And Now," show that Staind has not lost their touch for crafting powerful music that resonates with a loyal fanbase.
