Consequence, born Dexter Raymond Mills Jr. on June 14, 1977, in Queens, New York, is an American rapper known for his collaborations with prominent artists like A Tribe Called Quest and Kanye West. He is the cousin of Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, which led to his early appearances on their albums, including *Midnight Marauders* and *Beats, Rhymes, and Life*. Consequence released his debut album *Don't Quit Your Day Job!* in 2007 under Columbia Records and Kanye West's GOOD Music. He left GOOD Music in 2011 but later reconciled with West. Consequence has continued to release music, including recent tracks like "Blood Stain," "Complex Con," and "No Apologies," featuring Kanye West.

In addition to his music career, Consequence has been open about his personal struggles, including his battle with lupus, which he disclosed in 2020. His work often reflects his experiences and connections within the hip-hop community, making him a respected figure in the genre.
