He is the cousin of Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, which led to his early appearances on their albums, including *Midnight Marauders* and *Beats, Rhymes, and Life*. Consequence released his debut album *Don't Quit Your Day Job!* in 2007 under Columbia Records and Kanye West's GOOD Music. He left GOOD Music in 2011 but later reconciled with West. Consequence has continued to release music, including recent tracks like "Blood Stain," "Complex Con," and "No Apologies," featuring Kanye West.
