Quietdrive is an alternative rock band that originated from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed in 2002 by Kevin Truckenmiller (vocals, guitar, and violin) alongside his high school friends, the band quickly became known for their energetic performances and melodic rock sound. After releasing their first EP in 2003 and generating a buzz in the local scene, Quietdrive caught the attention of the larger music industry and signed with Epic Records. Their debut major-label album, "When All That's Left Is You," was released in 2006 and featured the hit cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," which garnered significant radio play and helped to solidify their presence in the alternative rock genre.
Over the years, Quietdrive continued to build their discography with albums like "Deliverance" (2008), "Quietdrive" (self-titled) in 2010, and "The Ghost of What You Used to Be" in 2014. Despite changes in the music industry and the band's line-up, they remained dedicated to their craft and their fans. Known for their DIY ethic after parting ways with major labels, the band took to platforms like Kickstarter to fund their projects. This move allowed them to maintain creative control while continuing to evolve their sound, as heard in later works such as "Up or Down" (2012) and singles like "Even When I'm Gone" (2014). Throughout their career, Quietdrive's commitment to authenticity and their roots has won them a loyal following as they navigate the intricacies of modern rock music.
