Stanislav Kochanovsky is a highly acclaimed Russian conductor known for his versatility in both symphonic and operatic repertoire. Born in St. Petersburg in 1981, he studied at the Glinka Choir School and later graduated with honors from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he specialized in choral conducting, organ, and opera-symphonic conducting. His career has been marked by significant collaborations, including his role as Chief Conductor of the State Safonov Philharmonic Orchestra and his work with the Mikhailovsky Theatre, where he conducted over 60 opera and ballet performances from the age of 25.
Kochanovsky has made notable debuts with prestigious orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and the Israel Philharmonic, among others. He is also a regular guest at the Verbier Festival, where he has conducted operas like *Eugene Onegin* and *Rigoletto*. As of the 2024/25 season, he serves as Chief Conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hannover. His repertoire includes more than thirty operas, and he is known for his interest in both classical and rarely performed works. Recent recordings include Tchaikovsky's Orchestral Suite No. 3 and Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio espagnol, showcasing his mastery of Russian masterpieces.
