The Tudor Choir

The Tudor Choir is a versatile and dynamic vocal ensemble known for its interpretations of early choral music as well as contemporary compositions. Based in Seattle, Washington, the group was founded in 1993 by director Doug Fullington, who sought to create a choir that specialized in the performance of Renaissance polyphony and the diverse sacred and secular repertoire of the Tudor period in England. Throughout its active years, The Tudor Choir has gained a reputation for the purity and precision of its sound, as well as its engaging approach to historically informed performance.

With a discography that reflects its dedication to both early and modern music, The Tudor Choir has produced a number of notable recordings. Their recent release, "Four by Jeff Junkinsmith," highlights their ability to seamlessly navigate contemporary choral compositions, while albums like "Small Raine," "Peter Hallock: Hail Universal Lord," and "Fair with Her Firstborn: Carols, Chant, and Polyphony for Christmas" showcase their mastery in interpreting ancient modal harmonies, carols, and polyphonic choral works. Whether breathing new life into ancient texts or exploring the works of present-day composers, The Tudor Choir has established itself as a distinguished ensemble in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, contributing richly to the choral landscape.
