The LeFevres

**The LeFevres** were a pioneering Southern gospel family group whose harmonies and heartfelt performances left a lasting mark on the genre. Starting in the 1920s with patriarch Urias LeFevre, his wife Maude, and their children, the group grew to include extended family like Alphus, Pierce, and later Rex Nelon (who married into the family). Known for classics like *Scatter Sunshine* and *Keep On The Firing Line*, their music blended uplifting messages with warm, familial vocals. They recorded for labels like Bibletone, releasing cherished collections like *Bibletone: The Lefevres, Vol. 1* and *Vol. 2*, which cemented their legacy as gospel ambassadors.

Over decades, The LeFevres evolved into The Rex Nelon Singers, carrying their tradition forward while inspiring countless family-based gospel acts. Inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, their joyful spirit and timeless songs, including *Steppin’ On the Clouds*, still resonate with fans of faith-driven music. Whether live or on record, their devotion to spreading hope through song remains their enduring gift.
