Atsuko Seki is a Japanese pianist born in 1964 in Tokyo. She received her musical education at the Musashino School of Music in Tokyo from 1983 to 1990 and later continued her studies at the Music Academy Dortmund. Seki has achieved notable success in competitions, including winning the IV Schubert Competition alongside Hideyo Harada and receiving the third prize at the IX José Iturbi Competition in 1994. She has recorded several CDs and is known for her performances of classical repertoire, including works by Mozart, Schumann, Beethoven, and Schubert.
Atsuko Seki's recent releases highlight her versatility and mastery of a wide range of classical music, from the traditional works of Haydn and Mozart to more contemporary pieces by composers like Gubaidulina and Janáček. Her performances are characterized by a deep understanding and interpretation of the classical piano repertoire.
