Skinny Puppy

Skinny Puppy is a pioneering force in the world of industrial music, having left an indelible mark since their inception in Vancouver, Canada in 1982. Formed by cEvin Key (Kevin Crompton) and Nivek Ogre (Kevin Ogilvie), Skinny Puppy initially emerged as a side project, but quickly evolved into a full-fledged entity that challenged the boundaries of music and performance art with their visceral, multimedia presentations and dark, complex soundscapes. The band's confrontational, politically charged lyrics and innovative use of samples and electronic instrumentation have influenced countless artists across various genres.

Over the years, Skinny Puppy has undergone several line-up changes and has faced periods of turbulence, including the death of member Dwayne Goettel in 1995. Despite such setbacks, Key and Ogre, the core of Skinny Puppy, have continued to push creative boundaries, resulting in an extensive discography that reflects their evolution in sound and visual artistry. Albums such as "The Process," "Last Rights," and "Mythmaker" showcase the band's exploration of complicated themes, incorporating elements of noise, ambient, and new wave into their signature industrial style. Skinny Puppy's live performances are equally renowned, often featuring elaborate staging and provocative imagery that question societal norms and injustices, solidifying their status as avant-garde icons in the world of electronic and industrial music.
