KUD Idijoti

KUD Idijoti, hailing from the coastal city of Pula in Croatia, burst onto the scene in 1981 as a punk rock band with a cheeky name that stands for "Kulturno Umjetničko Društvo Idijoti" (Cultural Artistic Society Idiots). They quickly became legends in the Yugoslav punk world, blending raw energy, satirical lyrics, and anti-establishment vibes that poked fun at politics, society, and everyday absurdities. Fronted by the charismatic vocalist Branko Črnac, aka Tusta, the band cranked out albums like "Bolivia R'n'R" and "Mi Smo Ovdje Samo Zbog Para," mixing humor with hard-hitting commentary that resonated through the turbulent '80s and '90s.

Even after the breakup of Yugoslavia, KUD Idijoti kept rocking, releasing live gems like "Gratis Hits" and later works such as "Cijena Ponosa," staying true to their punk roots while evolving their sound. Sadly, Tusta passed away in 2012, but the band's legacy lives on as Croatian punk pioneers who influenced generations with their irreverent spirit and DIY ethos. If you're into rebellious tunes with a side of wit, these guys are a must-listen!
