Lars Hollmer was a Swedish accordionist, composer, and keyboard player known for his versatility in multiple genres, including folk, rock, and electronic music. Born on July 21, 1948, in Linköping, Sweden, Hollmer is perhaps best recognized as a founding member of the influential Swedish progressive rock band Samla Mammas Manna. He was an important figure in the Swedish and international progressive rock scene, blending folk melodies with electronic experimentation.
In addition to his work with Samla Mammas Manna, Hollmer also pursued solo endeavors and collaborations, exploring boundaries in various musical directions. Releases like 'XII sibiriska cyklar' ('Twelve Siberian Cycles') and 'Karusell Musik' (' Carousel Music') demonstrate his prolific composition and eclecticism as a composer and performer. Unfortunately, Lars Hollmer passed away on Christmas Day in 2008, but his vibrant, eclectic music continues to inspire generations of musicians and fans around the world.
