Originally formed in 1996 by Charles Farewell and Vincent Villuis, Asura became Charles Farewell's solo project after Villuis departed in 2001 to pursue his own venture, Aes Dana. With a career spanning over two decades, Asura has become a key figure on the Ultimae Records label, which is renowned for its high-quality ambient and psybient releases.
Asura’s music often combines deep, hypnotic rhythms with melodic synth lines, ethnic influences, and a strong cinematic feel, creating immersive sonic journeys that have made albums like Code Eternity, Life², and 360 favorites among fans of chillout and trance-influenced ambient.
