GG Allin was a notorious punk rock performer known for his extreme stage antics, confrontational persona, and raw, aggressive music. Born Jesus Christ Allin in 1956, he became infamous in the 1980s and early '90s for concerts that could include self-mutilation, violence, and bodily fluids—part of his anarchic mission to tear down what he saw as the sanitized version of rock ‘n’ roll. His music blended hardcore punk with shock value and dark, unapologetic lyrics.
Beyond the chaos, GG Allin built a cult following and released a slew of recordings with bands like The Jabbers, The Scumfucs, and The Murder Junkies. Despite—or because of—his controversial legacy, he's often remembered as one of punk's most transgressive figures. Allin died in 1993 of a heroin overdose, leaving behind a legacy that's still fiercely debated in punk rock circles.
