Eat Static

Eat Static is an electronic music project that has been at the forefront of the UK's underground dance scene since the early 1990s. Formed by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton as an offshoot from their work with the legendary psychedelic rock band Ozric Tentacles, Eat Static is known for its futuristic and otherworldly soundscapes that meld elements of techno, breakbeat, and ambient music with samples and sounds inspired by science fiction and the extraterrestrial.

Since their inception, they have become revered for their innovative approach to electronic music and their energetic live performances. Although Joie Hinton left the group in 2008, Merv Pepler has continued to fly the Eat Static flag, releasing albums that continue to push the envelope in electronic sound experimentation. Among their most recent releases are "Ecstatic Collection 1 & 2", which serve as anthologies for newer audiences and long-time fans, and "Science Of The Gods Expanded: 1997-1998", a nod to their earlier work. Additionally, "Shpongle Static (Live at Ozora, 2019)" is a testament to their thrilling live sets that captivate audiences worldwide. Their consistent output, including albums like "Last Ship To Paradise" and "Dead Planet", has solidified Eat Static's place as a staple in the genre, synonymous with sonic exploration and the ability to transport their listeners to other dimensions through music.
