Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is an American rock band founded in 1996 by composer, lyricist, and producer Paul O'Neill, who brought together Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli (both members of Savatage) and keyboardist and co-producer Robert Kinkel to form the core of the creative team. The band gained fame for their merging of classical music with epic rock, heavily incorporating strings, choirs, and visually dynamic concert performances. TSO is best known for its holiday-themed albums and grandiose live shows, bursting with pyrotechnics, lasers, and elaborate light displays, captivating audiences worldwide.

The ensemble's music is a unique blend of rock, metal, and classical, often centered around Christmas themes, which has led to them becoming synonymous with the holiday season. Their storytelling concert tours are especially popular, drawing in fans from across genres and age groups. TSO's signature style is showcased in multi-platinum albums such as "Christmas Eve and Other Stories," "The Christmas Attic," and their rock opera "Beethoven's Last Night." Their story-driven approach to the Christmas genre is further exemplified by releases like "The Lost Christmas Eve" and the narrative-driven "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve," weaving together a tapestry of holiday tales with the TSO's distinctive sound. Despite the passing of their founder Paul O'Neill in 2017, Trans-Siberian Orchestra continues to honor his legacy, embarking on annual holiday tours and keeping the spirit of their innovative fusion of music genres alive.
