Artturi Rönkä

Artturi Rönkä is a Finnish jazz musician born in 1990, known for his work as a pianist, arranger, and composer. He began his jazz studies at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory and the Junior Academy of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Rönkä gained early experience playing with the Junior All Star Big Band from 2008 and later formed his own band, the AR Quartet, which released its debut album in 2014. The AR Quartet won the Finnish qualifying heat for the Young Nordic Jazz Comets competition in 2012. Rönkä has also made a name for himself as a composer, winning several competitions, including the Jazzverk composition competition in 2012 and the Esko Linnavalli big band composition contest in 2011.
