mssv (pronounced "mssv") is the brainchild of guitarist Mike Baggetta, a genre-blurring power trio serving up adventurous instrumental rock that mixes improvisation, experimental textures, and cinematic soundscapes. Formed in 2019, the group teams Baggetta's guitar-and-loops wizardry with the thunderous rhythm section of bass legend Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE) and drummer Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits, Mavis Staples). Their sound – described by Baggetta as "heavy twang from the outer limits" – balances gritty rock riffs with psychedelic sprawl, often stretching songs into hypnotic jams during their explosive live shows.

The band's name cheekily references their track "Main Steam Stop Valve," a nod to industrial machinery that mirrors their mechanical yet organic approach.
