Standard Fare

Standard Fare was an indie pop/rock band that emerged from the creative and dynamic Sheffield music scene in the late 2000s. The group was known for their catchy hooks, heartfelt lyrics, and a blend of pop sensibilities with a rock edge that earned them a dedicated following in the UK indie circuit. Comprising Emma Kupa on bass guitar and vocals, Danny How on guitar and vocals, and Andy Beswick on drums, they crafted songs that were at once personal and relatable, their stories framed by jangly guitars and an unabashed energy that was characteristic of their live performances.

Standard Fare's debut album, "The Noyelle Beat," was released in 2010 to critical acclaim, highlighting their ability to combine wistful storytelling with infectious melodies. This was followed by a series of releases that cemented their reputation as mainstays of the indie genre. Their 2011 sophomore album, "Out of Sight, Out of Town," showcased a maturation in songwriting and further developed their sound. Anchored by tracks like "Suitcase" and "Darth Vader," Standard Fare continued to tour and deepen their discography with ear-catching singles like "Rumours." Though relatively short-lived, with their active years spanning just a few years in the early 2010s, Standard Fare left a lasting impression on their fans and the indie music community with their spirited contribution to the genre.
