Paul Mauriat was a French composer, conductor, and arranger known for his lush, romantic orchestral arrangements of popular songs. Born in Marseille in 1925, Mauriat began his musical career as a pianist and accordionist. He gained international fame in the 1960s with his hit "Love Is Blue," which topped the charts in several countries. Mauriat's music is characterized by its sweeping melodies, lush harmonies, and elegant orchestrations. He has released over 100 albums and sold millions of records worldwide.
