Henry Wolff

Henry Wolff was an American composer and experimental musician best known for his groundbreaking collaborations with Nancy Hennings on the *Tibetan Bells* series. Alongside Hennings, Wolff pioneered the use of Tibetan singing bowls and Himalayan percussion in the 1970s, blending these ancient instruments with minimalist Western compositions to create haunting, meditative soundscapes. Their debut *Tibetan Bells* (1972) became a cult classic, influencing ambient and New Age music for decades. Wolff continued exploring this fusion across sequels like *Yamantaka* and *Tibetan Bells IV: Bells of Sh'ang Sh'ung*, maintaining a focus on cross-cultural resonance and spiritual atmospherics. His work with Hennings remains celebrated for its ethereal, transportive quality – a bridge between traditional Eastern practices and avant-garde experimentation.
