Major AJ

Major AJ, born Boluwatife Ajogwu, is a vibrant Afro fusion artist from Nigeria, known for his unique blend of Afrobeats with various genres. His musical journey began in Kainji, Niger State, where he grew up with limited access to music resources. Despite these challenges, he found inspiration in church choir practices and eventually pursued music professionally. Major AJ's name honors his late father, a military major. He gained recognition after releasing his debut EP *Retroverse* under Chocolate City Music in 2022, which featured hits like *Omnirascal* and *Taboo*. His recent projects, including *BadBoy Major*, showcase his evolving style and experimentation with different sounds, often infusing optimism and joy into his compositions.

Major AJ's music is influenced by a wide range of artists, from Westlife and The Jackson Five to Ebenezer Obey and Fela Kuti.
