Ibeyi is a French-Cuban musical duo made up of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz. They’re known for blending a wide range of musical styles, from downtempo electronica and soul to Afro-Cuban rhythms and Yoruba chants—reflecting their multicultural heritage. The duo first gained international attention with their self-titled debut album in 2015, which introduced their distinctive sound rooted in emotional storytelling, spiritual themes, and minimalist production.
Singing in English, French, Spanish, and Yoruba, Ibeyi crafts songs that feel both deeply personal and globally resonant. Their music often pays tribute to their father, the late Cuban percussionist Anga Díaz, while exploring themes of identity, womanhood, and resilience. Over the years, they've collaborated with artists like Kamasi Washington and Meshell Ndegeocello, and their 2022 album Spell 31 further solidified their reputation for innovating within and beyond genre boundaries.
