The Bloody Hollies are an American punk rock band from Buffalo, New York, **formed in 2000** by three art school students. The band mixes **punk, garage rock, rockabilly, and surf** into a combustive and energetic sound that draws heavily from the golden age of '60s and '70s rock & roll. Led by vocalist and guitarist **Wesley Doyle**, alongside guitarists Joey Horgen, bassist Erik Norgaard, and drummer Matt Bennett, the Bloody Hollies built their reputation on honest, genuine songwriting and relentless live energy. By 2002, they'd already released their debut album *Got It Where It Counts!* on Garage Pop Records and were named Buffalo's "Top New Original Band" by a local paper. They went on to sign with Sympathy for the Record Industry and released *Fire at Will* in 2003, followed by acclaimed albums like *If Footmen Tire You...* (2005) and *Yours Until the Bitter End* (2011).
The band's sound is marked by their trademark **blues and rock anthems** with dark, often murder-themed lyrical content—a throwback to classic rock sensibilities blended with raw garage punk energy. Critics have praised their ability to balance explosive, over-driven mayhem with intelligently crafted songwriting, drawing from influences ranging from '70s classic rock and Americana blues to power-pop. Even as the band evolved with each album, incorporating touches of organ, violin, and xylophone, their core identity remained rooted in the feral energy and uncompromising spirit that defined their early days.
