Chakal

Chakal is a Brazilian thrash metal band that has carved a niche for itself within the extreme metal scene since its formation in the mid-1980s. With origins rooted in Belo Horizonte, a city recognized as a fertile ground for metal in Brazil, Chakal quickly became known for their raw, aggressive sound and socio-politically charged lyrics. The band's early work is often credited with helping to shape the Brazilian metal landscape alongside contemporaries such as Sepultura and Sarcófago.

Over the years, Chakal's discography has expanded with relentless ferocity, bearing witness to the band's evolution without losing the gritty edge that defines their music. Their recent releases, including "Deadland," "Blood to Survive," and "Man Is a Jackal 2 Man," showcase a matured sound that continues to resonate with fans of traditional thrash metal and those drawn to its darker, more complex offshoots. The 2019 album "The Man is His Own Jackal/Death is a Lonely Business (Remastered)" represents a return to their earlier work, providing both new listeners and long-time fans with a remastered aural experience that reaffirms Chakal's enduring impact on the metal genre. As they maintain their robust presence with live performances and new material, Chakal remains a pivotal force in the thrash metal arena, unafraid to confront the abyss with sonic intensity and lyrical depth.
