Wo Fat

Wo Fat is an American rock band steeped in the muddy waters of classic blues, stoner rock, and heavy psychedelia. Emerging from the depths of Dallas, Texas, they have carved out a place for themselves in the heavy music scene with their blues-infused brand of psychedelic doom. The band, named after the fictional villain from the television series "Hawaii Five-O," was formed in 2003. Its core trio, consisting of Kent Stump on guitar and vocals, Michael Walter on drums and backing vocals, and Tim Wilson on bass, has maintained a thunderous cohesion throughout their musical journey.

Over the years, Wo Fat has garnered accolades for their raw, dynamic live performances and their ability to distill the essence of heavy riff-laden grooves into a power-packed sonic experience. Albums such as "The Black Code" (2012) and "The Conjuring" (2014) have particularly cemented their reputation, weaving tales wrapped in mystical grooves. Their more recent output, including "Midnight Cometh" (2016), continues this tradition, delivering fuzz-drenched narratives and cosmic jams that resonate with fans of the heavy underground. Live recordings like "Live Juju: Wo Fat At Freak Valley" showcase the band's improvisational prowess and their ability to capture the electric energy of their stage performances on tape, while "The Singularity" (2021) marks the latest chapter in their ever-evolving discography, promising to take listeners on another trip through Wo Fat's unique brand of thunderous, mind-bending rock.
