Petrus Schroderus

Petrus Schroderus is a Finnish tenor known for his remarkable journey that combines careers in both law enforcement and opera. Born and raised in Finland, he spent his youth immersed in music, attending a high school with a special music program before joining the police force in Oulu in the late 1990s. Encouraged by a friend, Schroderus took up operatic singing and, after just a few years of study, won the Timo Mustakallio Singing Competition at the Savonlinna Opera Festival. This led to a notable stint as a professional opera singer at the Finnish National Opera and other prestigious venues from 2004 to 2012, after which he returned to police work in Oulu. Schroderus continues to sing for private concerts and has gained attention both for his performances and his inspirational story of balancing two vastly different careers.

Schroderus, a father of five, believes music is for everyone and enjoys sharing his love of opera with diverse audiences.
