Judy Carmichael

Judy Carmichael is a Grammy-nominated jazz pianist and vocalist who's made a name for herself as one of the world's leading interpreters of stride and swing piano. Count Basie himself nicknamed her "Stride," a nod to her mastery of this technically demanding jazz piano style. Carmichael's career has taken her from Disneyland, where she was the first female instrumentalist hired, to stages around the world, including being the first jazz musician sponsored by the U.S. government to tour China.

Beyond her performances, Carmichael has been sharing her love for jazz through her nationally syndicated radio show and podcast, "Judy Carmichael's Jazz Inspired," which has been on the air since 1993. She's also a prolific recording artist, with albums spanning from solo piano to vocal performances, and even a collection of original compositions.
