The Utopians

**The Utopians** are a high-energy reggae band hailing from Belgium, formed during the pandemic lockdown by guitarist and vocalist Arnaud Pemmers and Romain Trigaux (guitar & vocals). They quickly brought in charismatic frontman Nicolas Nsakala on lead vocals and guitar, plus Yoann Grudzien on keyboards and backing vocals, and drummer Nico Leonard—who's also produced their stuff and toured with The Aggrolites—to round out the crew from spots like the Province of Luxembourg, the Ardennes, and Charleroi.

These guys draw from early reggae vibes like young Jimmy Cliff or modern dirty reggae sounds, blending roots, ska, and rocksteady across releases like their 2023 EP *How The World Turns* on Badasonic Records, followed by killer tracks on *Look Around You* such as "On The Road," "Lightning Love," and more recent drops like *SoundClash Series, Vol. 3* and *Plenty of Wine*. With over 20 years of playing in pop, rock, jazz, roots, and rockabilly bands, they hit the ground running, recording at Badasonic Studios and dishing out feel-good anthems about love, life on the road, and not wasting time on the wrong things.
