Kafu Banton, born Zico Alberto Garibaldi Roberts on June 3, 1979, is a Panamanian reggae and dancehall artist hailing from Colón, Panama. He chose his stage name as a fusion of Cafu, the famous Brazilian soccer player, and Banton, in honor of Jamaican reggae artist Buju Banton. Kafu began his music career in 1989 and gained popularity with hits like "Vamos pa la playa" (2004) and albums such as "The Best of Me" (2000) and "Vivo en el Ghetto" (2004).
Known for his unique blend of reggae roots and dancehall, Kafu Banton has evolved his style over the years, moving from more aggressive lyrics to positive and peaceful messages.
