Binki Shapiro

Binki Shapiro is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her warm, retro-inspired indie pop sound. She first gained attention as one-third of the indie supergroup Little Joy, formed in 2007 with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti and Brazilian musician Rodrigo Amarante. The band’s self-titled debut album became a cult favorite for its sun-soaked melodies and breezy harmonies. Later, Shapiro teamed up with anti-folk artist Adam Green for their collaborative 2013 self-titled album, blending witty lyrics with ’60s-style pop-rock vibes.

As a solo artist, Binki’s music mixes subtle sophistication with laid-back charm, heard in singles like "Come On" and "Set My Heart." Her collaborations span across genres, from working with Devendra Banhart to contributing vocals for electronic projects. While she keeps a relatively low profile, Binki’s velvety vocals and knack for timeless hooks have made her a quiet favorite in the indie scene, often channeling a blend of melancholy and playfulness in her work.
