The Friends of Natasha

The Friends of Natasha, also known as Ha-Chaverim shel Natasha, are a beloved Israeli rock band that left a major mark on the local music scene throughout the 1990s. Founded in Tel Aviv in 1987 by Arkadi Duchin and Micha Shitrit, the band quickly rose to fame with their unique blend of melodic rock and emotionally resonant lyrics, capturing the hearts of critics and fans alike. Their debut self-titled album, released in 1989, featured hits like "Melancholy," "At Lo," and "Shir Acher," and helped establish their reputation as one of Israel’s most influential rock acts. After a few years of activity, lineup changes, and further releases, the band split in 1996 as Duchin and Shitrit pursued solo careers, but they’ve reunited at various points in the years since, including in 2013 and later, continuing to perform and remind audiences of their enduring appeal.

Their story is one of friendship, creative energy, and musical ambition. From their early days sharing an apartment in an abandoned Tel Aviv hotel to their lasting impact on Israeli rock, The Friends of Natasha remain a touchstone for fans who grew up with their music. Though they’ve gone through periods of hiatus, their songs are still cherished, and live shows draw devoted crowds eager to relive the spirit of the 90s.
