Seoirse Bodley (1933–2023) was an Irish composer and pianist celebrated for blending traditional Irish music with contemporary classical styles. Born in Dublin, he studied at University College Dublin before expanding his craft in Germany and Italy. A longtime professor at UCD, he shaped generations of musicians while crafting symphonies, chamber works, and choral pieces that often wove Irish folk melodies into bold modernist textures. His later releases, like *A Small White Cloud Drifts Over Ireland* and the introspective *Symphonies Nos. 4 and 5*, reflect his fascination with Ireland’s landscapes and cultural identity.
