VOWWOW

**VOWWOW** (stylized as VOW WOW) is a legendary Japanese heavy metal band that’s been shredding since the early ‘80s. Originally formed in 1981 under the name **Bow Wow**, they rebranded to VOWWOW in 1984 to avoid confusion with a British act. Known for their high-energy blend of hard rock and metal, the band became pioneers of Japan’s metal scene with iconic members like guitarist **Kyoji Yamamoto** and powerhouse vocalist **Genki Hitomi**. They gained international attention after working with producer **Chris Tsangarides** (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy) on albums like *Beat of Metal Motion* and even toured the UK, earning a cult following for their electrifying live shows.

After disbanding in the ‘90s, VOWWOW reunited in the 2000s, dropping fiery releases like *V*, *III*, and *VIBe* that kept their signature riff-driven sound alive. Tracks like *CYCLONE* and *MOUNTAIN TOP* showcase their knack for blending melodic hooks with relentless energy. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to their thunderous vibe, VOWWOW remains a cornerstone of Japanese metal history.
