Piotr Lato

Piotr Lato is a renowned Polish clarinetist and educator, known for his extensive contributions to both the academic and artistic worlds of music. He graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Krakow under the tutelage of Professor Andrzej Godek. Lato has received numerous awards and distinctions, including reaching the semi-finals of the Prague Spring International Clarinet Competition in 2002 and winning third prize at the 4th Johannes Brahms International Chamber Music Competition in Gdańsk in 2006. He has also been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Order of Merit in the Service of Polish Culture and the Bronze Cross of Merit.

As an active performer, Piotr Lato has been the principal clarinetist of the Beethoven Academy Orchestra since 2004 and regularly appears as a soloist with various orchestras and ensembles. He is also a prolific educator, serving as the head of the Woodwinds and Accordion Faculty at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow. Lato has participated in numerous national and international festivals and has made recordings for prominent labels like DUX and Universal Music. His recent work includes collaborations with ensembles such as the LLLeggiero Woodwind Trio.
