The Plastic Constellations

**The Plastic Constellations** were a Minneapolis-based indie rock crew bursting with Midwestern energy, formed in 1998 by high school friends Aaron Mader (vocals/guitar) and Jeff Allen (bass). Alongside drummer Matt Schlagel and guitarist Jordan Roske, they carved out a rowdy, riff-heavy sound blending punk urgency with indie-rock hooks, becoming staples of the Twin Cities DIY scene. Their releases—like *We Appreciate You* (2004) and *Crusades* (2006)—showcased their knack for anthemic tracks like "Let’s War" and "Mazatlan," pairing shout-along choruses with relentless grooves. Known for chaotic live shows and a DIY ethos, they toured with acts like Atmosphere and Motion City Soundtrack before calling it quits in 2008. Their music remains a time capsule of sweat-drenched basement shows and early-2000s indie rebellion.
