Tom Fogerty was an American guitarist and singer best known as a founding member of Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of rock music's most iconic bands of the late 1960s and early '70s. While his younger brother John Fogerty took on lead vocals and most of the songwriting duties, Tom contributed rhythm guitar and backing vocals, helping to shape the band's swampy, roots-rock sound on hits like "Born on the Bayou" and "Proud Mary."
After leaving Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1971, Tom pursued a solo career and released several albums, including Deal It Out, Zephyr National, Myopia, and Excalibur. His solo work leaned more into blues and rock influences, and he occasionally collaborated with former bandmates. Though his post-CCR career was more low-key, Tom Fogerty's contributions to American rock music remain an important part of the genre's history.
