Cousins

Cousins is the brainchild of Halifax-based musician Aaron Mangle, a Canadian indie rock project known for its raw, lo-fi energy and genre-blurring experimentation. Since emerging in the late 2000s, Mangle’s work under the Cousins moniker has evolved from scrappy garage-punk to more textured, cerebral rock, often weaving literary references (like the Emily Dickinson-inspired *The Palm at the End of the Mind*) into frenetic guitar-driven soundscapes. Recent releases like *The Halls of Wickwire* and *Secret Weapon / Speech* showcase their knack for balancing melodic hooks with a DIY ethos, delivered through relentless touring and a reputation for blistering live performances. Operating out of Nova Scotia’s tight-knit music scene, Cousins maintains a cult following drawn to Mangle’s unfiltered lyrical wit and commitment to keeping indie rock refreshingly unpolished.
