Calligram

Calligram is a ferocious blackened grindcore force hailing from London, formed in 2014 by vocalist Matteo Radeschi and guitarist Bruno Silveira. The band—rounded out by bassist Agostino Mattino and drummer Paolo Giunta—melds raw black metal atmosphere with grindcore's chaotic urgency, creating a sound that’s as emotionally visceral as it is sonically destructive. Since their 2017 debut EP *The Eye is the First Circle*, they’ve sharpened their identity through releases like 2020’s *Position | Momentum* and 2024’s *Ostranenie*, earning a reputation for pulverizing live shows that leave audiences breathless. Touring with acts like Rotten Sound and Bölzer, Calligram carves its niche by balancing frostbitten tremolo riffs, guttural vocals in Italian and English, and lyrics exploring existential dread through a lens of poetic nihilism.
