Edie Brickell
Edie Brickell is a singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, which rose to fame in the late 1980s with their hit "What I Am." With her distinct, laid-back vocal style and introspective lyrics, Brickell quickly earned a dedicated fanbase. After her success with the New Bohemians, she went on to pursue solo projects, including her debut album Picture Perfect Morning in 1994.
In addition to her solo work, Brickell collaborated with comedian and banjoist Steve Martin on several albums, including Love Has Come for You and So Familiar, blending bluegrass with poetic storytelling. She also co-created the music for the Broadway musical Bright Star, which earned critical acclaim. With a career spanning decades and a knack for genre-crossing collaborations, Edie Brickell remains a unique voice in American music.
