Sybreed was a Swiss industrial metal band known for blending heavy guitars with electronic elements, creating a futuristic, high-energy sound that earned them a dedicated following in the metal and cyber-industrial scenes. Formed in 2003 in Geneva by vocalist Benjamin Nominet and guitarist Thomas "Drop" Betrisey, the band quickly gained attention with their debut album Slave Design. Over the years, Sybreed released several albums, including Antares (2007), The Pulse of Awakening (2009), and God Is an Automaton (2012), each showcasing their signature mix of aggressive riffs, melodic vocals, and pulsating synths.
The band's music often explores themes of technology, isolation, and transhumanism, aligning them with the cyber-metal aesthetic. Their energetic live shows and polished production helped them stand out in the European metal underground. Sybreed disbanded in 2013 after Benjamin Nominet left the group, leaving behind a legacy of genre-bending metal that still resonates with fans of futuristic and industrial sounds.
