Sierra Green & the Giants are a soulful force from New Orleans’ legendary 7th Ward, a neighborhood known for producing music icons like Jelly Roll Morton and Allen Toussaint. Sierra started singing in her church choir at age eight and later honed her craft busking and performing on Frenchmen Street, where she earned the title “Queen of Frenchmen Street.” Her powerful, passionate vocals and commanding stage presence, backed by The Giants—a top-tier band of New Orleans and Nashville musicians—blend vintage soul with modern energy, channeling influences from Motown, Stax, and the Crescent City’s rich musical heritage.
Their debut album *Here We Are* (2024), produced by JD Simo and New Orleans piano legend David Torkanowsky, features bristling rhythms, bold horns, and dynamic tunes like “Can You Get To That” and “Come To Mama.” Recorded in Nashville and New Orleans, it showcases Sierra’s fiery vocals and mastery of soul, funk, and blues. The band’s sound is a modern take on classic soul music, infused with heat, groove, and heartfelt emotion, earning them acclaim as revitalizers of a beloved genre with plenty of room for dance and feeling.
