Claude T. Smith

Claude T. Smith was an American composer, conductor, and music educator who made significant contributions to band music in the 20th century. Born in 1932 in Missouri, Smith composed over 110 works for band, orchestra, and choir during his career. He's best known for his concert band compositions, which are still widely performed today. Smith had a knack for writing accessible yet challenging music that appealed to both musicians and audiences. Some of his most famous pieces include "Flight," "Eternal Father, Strong to Save," and "Fantasia for Alto Saxophone."
