Mohan Rajan is a prominent Indian lyricist known for his work in Tamil cinema. Born in 1984 and hailing from Valayapatti near Tiruchirappalli, he moved to Chennai in 2001 with dreams of making it as a lyricist in the Tamil film industry. After initially struggling, he pursued higher education in Tamil literature and media arts from Loyola College, Chennai, which helped refine his craft. His break came with the film *Yathumaagi* (2010), and he soon became a favored lyricist for director Sasikumar, penning songs like "Jilla Vittu" from *Easan* (2010) and "Kondaadum Manasu" from *Sundarapandian* (2012). His major breakthrough hit was "Kanave Kanave" from the anthology film *David* (2013), composed and sung by Anirudh Ravichander. Since then, Mohan Rajan has contributed memorable lyrics to acclaimed films such as *Tharai Thappattai* (2016), *Vikram Vedha* (2017), and *Padaiveeran* (2018), establishing himself as a significant voice in contemporary Tamil film music.
