Alex Bugnon

Alex Bugnon is a celebrated Swiss-American jazz pianist and composer, known for his soulful approach to the contemporary jazz genre. Born on October 10, 1958, in Montreux, Switzerland, Bugnon grew up in a musical family; his uncle Donald Byrd was a prominent jazz trumpeter. This rich musical environment fueled Bugnon's passion for jazz and set the stage for his future success. He honed his skills at the Paris Conservatoire and the Mozart Academy before moving to the United States to study at the Berklee School of Music in Boston.

With a professional career spanning over three decades, Bugnon has established himself as a mainstay on the contemporary jazz scene. His debut album "Love Season" (1989) set the tone for a series of successful releases that showcased his unique blend of jazz with R&B, funk, and pop elements. Bugnon's artistry is marked by his melodic sensibilities, energizing grooves, and emotive playing style.
