Joel Miller

Joel Miller is a Canadian saxophonist, composer, and performer based in Montreal. He began playing the saxophone at the age of 10 and grew up in a musical household with a father who was a classical composer. Miller's career gained momentum in the late 1990s with the release of his debut album, "Find a Way," which earned him the Grand Prix Jazz Award at the 1997 Montreal International Jazz Festival. Over the years, he has released numerous albums, including "Playgrounds," "Sky Beneath My Feet," "Mandala," and "Swim," the latter winning a JUNO Award for Contemporary Jazz Album in 2013. His work spans traditional jazz to more experimental projects, and he has performed internationally alongside notable musicians.

Miller's more recent work includes the album "Dream Cassette," which reflects his eclectic style by blending jazz with influences from his youth, such as skateboard culture and 1980s pop music. This album also touches on personal themes, inspired by the loss of his nephew. Joel Miller is known for his unique creative approach, seamlessly integrating different musical influences into his compositions.
